Cryolipolysis or fat freeze is different to other non-surgical lipo treatments that use lasers like strawberry lipo. With cryolipolysis fat cells are permanently destroyed. Clinical studies have shown cryogenic liposuction treatments to be effective on between 20%-40% of the fat cells in the treatment area in just one session.
How does it work?
A vacuum suction hand piece with cooling plates are positioned on the selected area. The area is then chilled to between -5 to -8 degrees for approximately 45 minutes. Fat cells are sensitive to extreme cold and as a result crystallise and break down. The surrounding blood vessels and nerves are much less sensitive to cool exposure and therefore remain unaffected, resulting in the elimination of the fat cells without damage to the surrounding tissue.
Does it work?
Yes – There are numerous clinical trials which supports the effectiveness of fat freezing. It is widely known as one of the most effective fat loss treatments, with 20-40% in a single session.
Is it painful?
No- it initially feels like a pulling sensation when the vacuum is applied, but after a few minutes it eases off. Many patients feel no discomfort at all. Post treatment there may be extensive bruising and the area may have a dull ache possibly for 3-4 weeks. However most patients feel minimal post treatment discomfort.
When do I see results?
You should start seeing results after 3-4 weeks and full results after 3-4 months.
PDO Thread lifts
PDO Thread lifts are a new treatment now being offered in the UK. Ageing causes the skin tissue to become thin due to the break down if collagen and elastin, resulting in sagging skin, deep creases and wrinkles.
Not all patients want to undergo major surgery like face lifts so a PDO thread lift is an effective alternative. The thread lift is a procedure which rejuvenates, regenerates and improves the structure of the face.
The PDO thread lift uses specialises threads which are inserted into the skin by a very fine needle, to lift tissue and muscle and improve skin texture. The threads used in the treatment are made of Polydioxanone which is a material that has been used safely in medicine for many years, mainly in surgery…
The neocollagenesis process which encourages the production of new collagen in the skin. The PDO threads also stimulate the synthesis of elastin and hyaluronic acid in the skin, both of which are vital for keeping the skin looking plump and youthful looking.
How is it done?
The PDO thread is inserted into the skin through a fine needle. Depending on the area to be treated, the thread is introduced into either the skin itself the subcutaneous fat, or the muscle. A lifted appearance can be seen immediately following the treatment. However the results will improve in the next days and weeks as the PDO stimulates the neocollagenesis, which in turn produces collagen. The overall texture of the skin becomes thicker, tighter and fine lines and wrinkles smooth out.
How long does it last?
Research has shown that although the threads are absorbed naturally into the body the effects of the lifting can last up to 2 years.
Is it painful?
A topical anaesthetic cream is applied to the skin pre-treatment, this helps to reduce any discomfort. There may be a small amount of bruising and soft tissue inflammation post treatment in the same way as dermal fillers.
This is a procedure that stimulates the skin to repair and regenerate itself naturally, resulting in smoother, healthier and younger looking skin.
This technique also reduces acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles.
This is a non-invasive treatment that involves injecting a solution under the skin’s surface which hydrates and helps smooth the skin’s appearance as well as reducing fine lines. This can be used on the face, chest and hands.
All treatments are conducted in the clinic’s relaxed atmosphere and are competitively priced and professionally administered.
All treatments are carried out by fully qualified and experienced nurses with specialist training in Aesthetics.
